Day 3 - Monday, August 11th After a well-needed rest and a full English breakfast at your leisure.
Our first adventure in the nearly 2,000 year old city of York will be a visit to York Minster. It is the largest, Gothic Cathedral in Europe. As it now stands, it took 250 years to complete from 1230 to 1475AD and was and is the heart of York city.
The admission to the Minster includes access to the Towers for those fit and inclined to walk up to the top!
After a lunch break, we will meet our local guide for a unique walking tour. We are scheduled for a walking tour with a local guide to discover a feature unique to York- Snickelways . They are very narrow medieval alleyways with curious names that weave their way in and around the Old medieval town. We will learn what purpose they served and if in fact they were sometimes sinister?
Dinner tonight is at The Fat Badger, next to the Medieval city walls and Boothram gat. A great pub with good food and great, cozy atmosphere.

Day 8–Saturday, August 16th After a full English breakfast, we’ll board our bus and travel to Loch Lomand and The Trossachs National Park. We will have time leave the coach and walk around to explore the natural beauty of the area before stopping in the Village of Bollach at the foot of Lock Lomand. There we will board our boat for a one hour cruise around the Loch. Our Captain will be our local guide to point interesting features and history of the area. In addition to the natural beauty of the loch and the highlands, there are spectacular homes to be seen.
Dinner tonight will be at The Beefeater Black Bear at 6:30.

Day 5 - Wednesday, August 13thAfter a Full English breakfast we will check out of The Radisson and make our way Northwest through the famous Yorkshire Dales featured as the scenic backdrop for the beloved, TV series,” All Creatures Great and Small”. We will stop and visit the Unesco Worl Heritage site, Hadrian’s Wall at The Housestead’s Fort. This is one of the most significant Forts of the many that were built along the 73mile long wall across the narrowest part of the country. It offers a spectacular view of the area as well many Roman artifacts that were retrieved from the arean. There are facilities which include a café for those who might like a bite of lunch before we continue our drive to Glascow.
Tonight we check in to The Grand Central Hotel for 6 nights.

Day 10 Monday, 18th After a Full English breakfast, the plan is to have the day in Glascow to relax, shop or do as you please before returning to the The great USA tomorrow. You’ll have a guide of, “Things to Do and See” in Glascow to help you decide what you might like to visit.
We’ll meet for our last meal together at TBA before departing for home.

Day 4 - Tuesday, a August 12th After a full English breakfast at, you have free time to explore the Medieval town of York at your pace. Feel free to shop or just enjoy time on your own and amble around the old town or maybe take a walk along the a section of the wall or visit the spectacular, York Museum gardens, A ten acre site that is free to the public in the center of York. It is so much more than just a garden. It is surrounded by historic buildings all housed on the grounds of the original St Mary’s Abbey. There will be a break for you to enjoy lunch or a pint on your own and we will meet later for our Early Evening Cruise on the River Ouse. Day 9 –Sunday,After a full and relaxed Sunday breakfast, we’ll head to the convenient Clydside Distiller on the nearby River Clyde for an afternoon tour and tasting of one of Scotland’s best known products, Scotch Whisky. After our tasting, we will visit the nearby Braehead Mall for some last minute shopping.
Dinner tonight will be at the Butterfly and the Pig to enjoy a traditional, “Sunday Roast” at 5 pm
Day 6 –Thursday, August 14thAfter a full, leisurely English breakfast, we leave late morning for a short ride to Stirling Castle for a guided tour of one of the British Isles's most significant, historic castles. It was an early residence and home to Henry VIII’s daughter daughter, Mary Queen of Scots. Mary was one of many Scottish kings and queens who were crowned at Sterling Castle. Other famous figures are William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, who have close ties to Sterling. The tour includes tales of ghostly apparitions, as well as the more tangible displays as seen in the Museum of the Argyll and Highlander’s regiments, The Palace, The Chapel Royal, the Great Hall completed in 1503, Queen Anne Garden and Castle Exhibition and an unusual inclusion, the Great Kitchens of the castle all housed within the castle’s walls!
There are three wonderful castle shops that include items such as beautiful and affordable, tapestry reproductions for pillow covers, stained glass pieces, books on Scotland and Sterling Castle. There is also a café.
We will return to Glascow early enough to enjoy some free time before dinner at
Luciano’s Restaurant for a pleasant change of fare at 7pm.

Day 7 –Friday, August 15thAfter a full, English breakfast, we leave for a full day to explore the other famous city, Edinburgh, the Capital of Scotland. However, we first will visit Rosslyn Chapel, just south of the city. This chapel was featured in the movie, “The Da Vinci Code” and still beguiles visitors today with its enigmatic carvings and history. It is a short ride to the sights of Edinburgh, the city on the volcano’s ancient rim.
We will take a short drive along the, “Royal Mile” to show the main attractions. You will have admission to Edinburgh Castle, at the top of the mile and Holyrood Palace, the royal residence of King Charles III when he is in Edinburgh at the bottom of the mile. You will have to time to wander in and out of shops as you make your way to Holyrood where you will be picked up for dinner in Edinburgh at Brown’s Brasserie&Bar in the Old Town, Edinburgh.
We will return to Glascow after dinner.

Day 2 - Sunday, August 10th You will arrive in Leeds-Bradford Airport in the afternoon. After collecting your luggage and clearing customs, you will meet your ‘Tour Guides and Driver’. They will stand-out and be easily recognizable by their Yellow Windbreaker Jackets. You will join your guide and take a short ride by luxury coach to the enchanting, and very pedestrian Medieval city of York also known as, “The Capital of the North” where will be staying for the next three nights.
Before we check in at our hotel, we will do a short guided drive through the Heart of York to acquaint you with the Old Town section of the city which includes, some of the existing stone gatehouses, known as “Bars” like Monk’s Bar and Bootham Bar that are part of the Medieval wall and still mark entrance to the medieval city, the imposing Gothic Cathedral and Metropolitcal Church of St. Peter best known as York Minster, “The Shambles” a very narrow, medieval street filled with fascinating 14th century shops.
