There is a restaurant, gift shop, coffee shop and public toilets at the visitor center. Next, we head south to Fonyes Flying boat & Maritime Museum- One of the many unique museums on this tour. It is a full-day adventure to Dingletown and you may ask, “Why go there?” “National Geographic” answered that when they once called the Dingle Peninsula, “the most beautiful place on Earth”.  The drive along the Dingle peninsula has been compared to the spectacular, “Ring of Kerry” drive, but without the hundreds of tour coaches and boring parts. On our way, we’ll take a break to enjoy the beauty of Inch Beach. Inch Beach is a cinematically beautiful, sandy beach that stretches for 3.5 miles into the waters that separate Castlemaine Harbor from Dingle Bay. It was the setting for the beach scene in the notable film, “Ryan’s Daughter”. When we arrive in Dingle town, you will have time to explore the town, have lunch and a pint. If you scan the harbor, you might see the national Irish pet, Fungi. Fungi is a dolphin who adopted the harbor 30 years ago and still accompanies all manner of boats coming and going in the harbor to the delight of tourists.
Then to The Prehistoric and Celtic Museum. It is owned by an American ex-pat and is one of the most interesting and eclectic museums in Ireland; you can see the head and tusks of a Wooly Mammoth found in the North Sea alongside rare and ancient artifacts from 2400 BC. Dinner location tonight T.B.D.
